Look What Katie Can Do!!!

I’m just about bursting my buttons! Katie can cook! Now, for those of you who haven’t known Katie long, I’m sure that doesn’t register on your radar screen. But... for those of us who have been along for the ride a long time... well, we thought this day would never come.

A very heartfelt shout-out to Brady, who had the courage to hire her to work for his catering company (after many assurances from her stepbrother Rob, I’m sure). She is now very comfortable in a kitchen, around a stove, and well, she even doesn’t shrink from the sink... Well, of course, she does dishes on her own schedule and not necessarily on mine, but, progress is progress.

Oh, and as the evidence will prove, Katie can do more than bake. She can still make a mess. Her new-found talents have just made it so she extends the mess from her room to the kitchen. (sigh).

Timely... at least for me

General Conference Quick Thoughts

I really enjoy General Conference. It seems to always boost my energy and increase my hope. This conference was no exception. I wanted to post just a few of the thoughts/teachings expressed that had impact or meaning for me. Please feel free to comment about the insights and thoughts you gleaned from your conference experience. The ones that follow came from the Saturday morning session.

• Our success is never measured by how strongly we are tempted, but how faithfully we respond. -- Robert D. Hales

• Whenever we want to experience or possess something that will impact us or our resources, we may want to ask ourselves, “Is this benefit temporary or will it have eternal value and significance?” -- Robert D. Hales
