General Conference Quick Thoughts

I really enjoy General Conference. It seems to always boost my energy and increase my hope. This conference was no exception. I wanted to post just a few of the thoughts/teachings expressed that had impact or meaning for me. Please feel free to comment about the insights and thoughts you gleaned from your conference experience. The ones that follow came from the Saturday morning session.

• Our success is never measured by how strongly we are tempted, but how faithfully we respond. -- Robert D. Hales

• Whenever we want to experience or possess something that will impact us or our resources, we may want to ask ourselves, “Is this benefit temporary or will it have eternal value and significance?” -- Robert D. Hales

• Our covenants produce the faith necessary to persevere. -- D. Todd Christofferson

• Our covenant commitment to Him will permit our Heavenly Father to let His divine influence, the power of godliness, flow into our lives. - D. Todd Christofferson

• It is the Holy Ghost that reveals how you may clear the next seemingly insurmountable hurdle. -- D. Todd Christofferson

• In times of distress, let your covenants be paramount and let your obedience be exact. Then you can ask in faith, nothing wavering, according to your need, and God will answer. He will sustain you as you work and watch. In His own time and way, He will stretch forth His hand to you and say, “Here am I.” -- D. Todd Christofferson

Then, of course, there was President Eyring's entire talk!!! Too much there to just glean out snippets of wisdom.
